Friends there’s something about a routine I love. Maybe it’s knowing what the next day brings or maybe I just crave structure in my life. I’m a catch 22 because I’m a go with the flow kind of gal, but then I live by routine and schedule. Come on I schedule my workouts!
Anyway — with a little one I’ve had to learn to be a bit more flexible, especially in the morning. But there are some things I just can’t skip. Like a big cup of coffee and a healthy breakfast.

After breakfast is cleaned up I set Emerson up in the bathroom with a few toys and books so I can shower.
A quick shower is followed by me scrambling to get myself and Emerson ready for the day. Around 8ish I drop Emerson off at preschool [3 days a week] and then head home to work. Obvious work varies from day to day.
In a nut shell that’s my morning routine. It’s pretty simple, but it works for me. There’s just something about starting the day with a workout and cup of coffee.
Now let’s talk about coffee because I’m pretty serious about my coffee — even though I need creamer. First I absolutely love my new OXO On Barista Brain 9 Cup Coffee Maker [c/o]! The microprocessor-controlled brew cycle replicates the pour-over method to produce SCAA-certified perfect coffee. There’s also a freshness indicator making it easy to determine when the coffee was made.
Whether you’re entertaining guests, keeping up with the kids or simply looking to enjoy a smooth cup of joe or iced coffee is a must. Recently we’ve been using Community Coffee. Aside from Community Coffee being pretty good coffee, the company gives back in a big way. In my book that’s a win, win. Why not purchase with a purpose?! Learn more about their giving back programs like Military Match and Cash for Schools HERE. Fun fact: the Military Match program just reached a new milestone – 4.2. million cups of Community® coffee shipped to active-duty military personnel around the world.
P.S. Their seasonal favors are OUT and I can’t wait to give the Pumpkin Praline a try!
What does your morning routine look like?
