I took the last few days off from blogging to spend quality time with my family in San Diego and LA LA land. It went a little like this….
Wednesday morning Nick, Roxy and I loaded up and headed out at 5a.m. (yes that’s correct). The plan was to beat the storm out of Tahoe. Well it rained on us the first three hours of our 10 hour journey. Here’s what I-5 southbound looks like in the wee morning hours. Not a sole in sight!
Yes, Saint Christopher was on our side and we are very thankful.

Roxy is a very good traveler. Here’s me and my girl.
We love us some bird dogs! My Mom and Michael have a crazy two year old vizsla named Lily. Below are Roxy and Lily being good dogs for a treat. Random trivia about the dogs — Roxy and Lily share the same birthday just one year apart.
And there was already not one, but two Christmas trees up at the house!
We kept Thanksgiving casual, I wore a chevron top from Banana Republic, skinny jeans by LC from Kohl’s and my go-to classic grey Toms.
And then there was a feast!
And my sister, the chef. She did an amazing job! I can’t remember all the dishes, but the recipes were all from William-Sonoma ! Hands down one of the best Turkey’s I’ve ever had. Tidbit about the turkey — it was 100% all organic, never frozen and no hormones.
I can’t forget about dessert, wine or champagne!
Dessert Menu: Pumpkin Cheesecake, Apple-Cranberry Pie and Classic Pumpkin pie (not pictured).
There was plenty of relaxing, shopping and dog walks too!
We even got a little crazy and took a impromptu family holiday photo.
Let the countdown to Christmas begin!

Wine tasting on black Friday sounds like a great time! My mom made the trip to Wilson Creek a few weeks ago and brought home a few bottles for us to enjoy. The Almond Champagne is amazing. Thanks for stopping by.

Looks like you had a fun Thanksgiving with family too. San Diego is such a beautiful place. We have great memories of being there 6 yrs. ago for our honeymoon.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
