We've be getting Emerson on the mountain skiing every chance possible! And it's been amazing 
watching her get more confident with each run. 

At this age, it's all about keeping it fun. So we go with friends. We go when it's warm. We pack snacks. We know when it's time to go. ๐ŸŽฟ

How are you keeping your kids active this winter?
If you change one thing this year stop looking at If you change one thing this year stop looking at food as "good" or "bad." Start looking at food as FUEL.

This shift in mindset will not happen overnight and you shouldn't expect it to. You have to work at it. You have to allow yourself to enjoy foods you love without the feeling guilty. Find your balance. Eat real foods and enjoy a homemade cookie!

I LOVE oatmeal -- overnight oats, fully loaded oat I LOVE oatmeal -- overnight oats, fully loaded oats, oat bars, oatmeal cookies or even adding oats to my smoothie! Oats are a nutrition powerhouse with some major health benefits (Heart Health, Blood Sugar Control,  and Digestive Health). Plus, it's a great way to get in some extra carbs. โฃ

1 cup nuts (walnuts, pecans or sliced almonds)โฃ

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish and set aside.โฃ

Place butter, PB, sugar, and vanilla in a stand mixer and combine until smooth. You may need to occasionally scrap down the sides.โฃ

In a separate bowl combine remaining ingredients. Combine PB and oat mixture. It will be VERY thick. Use a wood spoon or your stand mixer on low.โฃ

Once combine, fold in "optional" items. Pour into prepared pan. Spread evenly.โฃ

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bars are slightly brown along the edges. โฃ

Gang, it was a long week. And some how I took a we Gang, it was a long week. And some how I took a week off from this space. It felt good, but boy did I miss chatting with you.

Yesterday, I posted a photo of my lunch. Specifically -- my crunch wrap. It had been a hot minute since I had a crunch wrap. I forgot how easy + delicious they were! 

When I was really tracking macros I loved switching up salads for crunch wraps. It's a super easy way to increase your protein! One @josephspitabread lavash wrap packs 12g of protein! Not kidding. 

Anyway, today I packed my crunch wrap with...

2 slices of turkey
2 egg whites
1/4 avocado 
sliced tomato
handful of spinach 
Mustard
EBTB seasoning

Cals: 264 
Macros: 22C/10F/27P

It's also a great way to use up leftover protein and veggies!

9 Things You Should Snag From Target

Calling all Target Shoppers… I rounded up 9 things you might want to snag from Target right now. Let’s face it because Target is awesome and they are still slaying it!

So let’s break it down a little further. Instant Pot seemed to be the IT kitchen gadget of 2017. Did you by one? Guess what I didn’t either, but I still want one and this cookbook to go with it. I also can’t make up my mind about an Airfryer. Do you have one? Are they worth it?

#TargetStyle! Come on, everything is so cute right now. I purchased the Free People knockoffs when they first came out and LOVE them. I wear them all the time and receive so many compliments. Universal Threads also has a number of basic tops to help transition to spring. Oh and the dresses! This one is in my cart!

You can’t leave target without browsing all things home decor. After 8 years we still don’t have patio furniture etc. Well, things are changing this summer! I think some outdoor lights would be a nice touch.

I’m still on the hunt for the perfect area rug and while the above rug might not work in my house I think someone should totally pick it up.

Anyway, I didn’t even scratch the surface. Until next time…

    You need an Instant Pot.. PERIOD! I use mine so much.

    I also have an air fryer and it is cool but honestly I don't use it very often. When I do use it, I cut corn tortillas to make corn chips! Yum & save your fats from bag chips! lol

    We have those lights under our patio and they are awesome. You need them!! They look so cool at night!

Well, Friends. I think it's safe to say that we su Well, Friends. I think it's safe to say that we survived all that was 2020. I claimed 2020 as my year of growth. I grew and pushed myself in ways I never expected. I think we can all agree that was the case for most of us!โฃ

I talk a lot about growth through nutrition and fitness, but I never really talk about plateaus. You know those days, weeks, or months when it's just status quo? โฃ

I get it. It's frustrating not seeing changes, feeling stuck, and wanting to give up. โฃ
โฃ
I'm here to tell you not to give up but to PIVOT. Yes, pivot. Maybe you need to switch things up. Maybe, you need to shift your mindset. Maybe, you need to step away for a quick breather. โฃ
โฃ
But whatever you do -- don't throw in the towel. PIVOT. I pivoted last year after walking away from a business partner. In 2020, I had to pivot numerous times as my business and world changed. These changes didn't make me weak they made me stronger they gave me clarity in my purpose. โฃ

In 2021, make sure to PIVOT.
