Happy Friday!
This is my attempt to take my own photo! The hubby was up and out the door to go fishing at 5:30 a.m. today leaving me to fend for myself. However, he did leave a ladder set up in our spare room which made for a great tripod and a lot of laughs for me this morning. I think it’s time to invest in a real tripod. With that said, I don’t think the photo turned out half bad. Ok, maybe the sign is a little crooked, but I look good! Now for the update.
How far along:
Exactly
19 weeks today! I’m definitely starting to show more, but it’s still hard to tell.
Baby’s size:
Our peanut is the size of an mango. About 6.0 inches and 8.5 ounces.
Weight gain:
Roughly 6-7 pounds. We have our 20 week appointment next Friday so we’ll see what their scale says. Lately I’ve noticed that even though my pants fit they are definitely tighter.
Food cravings:
I wasn’t very hungry this week. Maybe it’s because I over indulged Labor Day weekend. I’m keeping my eating in check
for the most part. I’m still enjoying tons of fruit, salad, and my weekly small soy latte.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
for the most part. I’m still enjoying tons of fruit, salad, and my weekly small soy latte.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
No. I’m only lucky girl. (Maybe I should remove this question since it hasn’t changed once.)
Sleep:
Sleep:
Overall, I’m still
sleeping great. However, I’ve noticed that I’m starting to sleep on my side. Typically I’m a back sleeper so it’s been an adjustment. In the near future I might need to invest in a body pillow.
Gender:
Our 20 week appointment is next Friday so fingers crossed. Don’t forget to cast
your vote — upper right of the blog.

Movement:
Sometimes I think I feel something, but really nothing yet.
Best moment this week:
Best moment this week:
Having family visit Labor Day weekend. Also buying my season pass for Heavenly/Kirkwood/Northstar. You better believe I plan on snowboarding this winter. I should be hitting the slopes come March. However, I planned ahead and purchased the reimbursement insurance ($20) just in case it’s a bad snow year or the doctor doesn’t clear me. Of course I’m going to be smart about it.
Miss anything?
An ice cold beer and pushing myself while working out. It’s completely mental at this point. I know I can do something, but I know I shouldn’t.
Symptoms:
I feel a pain here and there, but my body is changing which is to be expected.
Workouts:

Workouts:
CrossFit,
spin and walking/running. It might be time to start yoga again. I’m
still logging 6-8 workouts a week. I did decrease my weight by 10-20 lbs this week.

Maternity Clothes?
Not really. I have a few things, but mostly rock maxi skirts and dresses. I do need to invest in some new workout leggings for spin. I noticed mine are starting to become uncomfortable. We’ll see what Target has this weekend.
Mood:
Overall,
happy.Working out definitely is keeping me sane.

Looking forward to:
Our trip to Portland, purchasing hardwood flooring (for the whole house), and obviously finding out the sex.

I love these updates! I have a question: did you read any books or do any kind of "homework" before becoming pregnant or when you found out? I think so much of the peace many mommies feel during this time is having a realistic idea of what to expect, so I'm curious how you came to that info.

Thanks! I didn't buy any books because I know they would probably stress me out. However, I definitely did my research both before and after I found out. Between my doctor, online and friends I've learned so much. There is endless amounts of information online. I personally use thebump.com and fitpregnancy.com. I also talked to a number of friends about their experience pre, during and post pregnancy. The blog world is amazing and I love hearing different stories from these ladies. We're going to start classes through our hospital in Nov. to prep for baby CPR, labor, etc. Also my doctor has been amazing. I met with her last fall to discuss getting pregnant and we ran some tests to make sure I was healthy. Every time I go in I have a list of new questions for her and she's always very honest. I think what has helped me the most is understanding there are going to things I can't control and being ok with it.

hi lady! i tried to respond to your comment but you had a no-reply blogger email. anyhoo about the tieks flats: I normally wear a size 8, Tieks size 8 fit me perfectly! They also offer free returns + exchanges if you are worried about the shoes not fitting 😉 also your bump is SO cute!! xoxo jillian

Thanks for the heads up. It's strange because I've fixed it a few times now. Hopefully this time it works for awhile:) Good to know about the free returns I must have missed that part.

You look great! I always measured teeny too! Our peanut was only a 4 lb-er!
Tiara Wasner says
Thanks! That is teeny.

You look so great, you can definitely see a bump starting to pop! I can't believe you are doing 6-8 workouts per week, go mama! I should really get back to the gym, thinking some prenatal yoga would be great for the aches!

Thanks! It has grown so much this week it's amazing! But I really haven't been eating so well so that might have something to do with it. My intensity definitely isn't what it once was and I've had to start modifying movements i.e., knees to elbows for core or hang clean/snatch instead of off the floor. Yoga sounds amazing right about now.
