Labor Day has always marked the last days of summer. For a mountain girl it means fall is just weeks away and winter is only a month or two behind. It also means it’s time to collect wood, winterize your house, dust off your skis and boards and remembering where you put those gloves – – Oh and seaosn pass; possibly even taking a new picture! In true fashion this mountain girl turned to her San Diegan roots and headed south to the Beach, Carlsbad that is.
In honor of the weekend and the Swine Flu we ended the summer right, roasting a 100 lb pig, named Petunia. There was beach volleyball, horseshoes and even a beer pong tourney on the infamous Cherry Street. I was merely a spectator this weekend.Oh course the “Swine Fest ’09 – 2” was hosted by the Cherry Ave Clan.
It will be interesting to see how they top this summer next year……
