With the Thanksgiving season upon us, we are presented with all of the excitement, joy, and responsibility that comes with being a Hostess. Before the big day arrives, arm yourself with a sense of humor and the tools you need to handle anything the holiday throws at you.
Oh the pressure — the pressure to have everything perfect. But let’s face it, we put the pressure on ourselves and things don’t need to be perfect. All that matters is that you’re with the people you love, enjoying great food, and have a clean house. God, I love a clean house. I have a secret — I hired a house cleaner. She comes every two weeks and it was the best decision EVER.
Anyway, since we’re hosting Thanksgiving I’m sharing how I’m preparing for Holiday guests.
5 Tips: Preparing for Holiday Guests
1. Clean a little bit everyday until company arrives
I’ve always found cleaning a little bit every day is way easier than one big clean. This way you’re not running around stressing out before guests arrive. This time of year I prefer to use Pledge® 9.7oz Multisurface – Antibacterial. It cleans and disinfects at the same time #winning! Pledge® 9.7oz Multisurface – Antibacterial takes care of and protects the things you love. Like my new kitchen!
2. Keep extra cleaning supplies on hand
Hosting Thanksgiving means there will be a mess, so the key is to stock up before guests arrive. I keep things simple in the kitchen — Pledge® 9.7oz Multisurface – Rainshower, Pledge® 9.7oz Multisurface – Antibacterial and Windex® 26oz Original Glass Cleaner.
Windex® is perfect for so many of the surfaces throughout the home including windows, mirrors, sealed granite and marble, glass shower doors, chrome bathroom fixtures, lucite, tile, plastic, vinyl, aluminum, and more!
3. Simple Coffee Station
Everyone loves coffee. I suggest sprucing up your ‘coffee station’ with festive decor and candle. I’m currently loving Glade® Apple Cinnamon 3.4oz Candles and your guests will too!
4. Create an inviting Guest Room
I can officially check our guest room off the house project list! New headboard, cozy sheets, blinds, ceiling fans and I even hung some photos!
5. Keep things simple
Take a deep breathe. If something doesn’t get done, it’s ok. I can guarantee that your guests are going to have a great time. Remember, all you need is good company and great food.
So, there you have it, a few simple and easy tips to help prepare you for holiday guests.
