Where do I begin, Feast Portland was a four day food adventure. Throughout the city for four days there were a wide variety of events from hands on classes, tasting panels, dinner series, to main events like Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting. Feast did not disappoint — we left feeling as though we sampled what Portland and Oregon has to offer.
Today it’s all about the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting — it was grand! The Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting is actually a two day event taking place Friday and Saturday in the center of Portland at Pioneer Square. This event in particular highlights Oregon and offers a wide sampling of it’s bounty — beer, wine, coffee, chefs, ice cream, etc.
As mentioned in previous posts, I was lucky enough to receive a
blogger pass. My pass gave me complimentary entry to various events, but
my thoughts are 100% my own. We actually purchased tickets for Nick.
His thoughts — he would definitely go again, especially to the Sandwich Invitational.

Whole Foods PDX had a fantastic set up which included a living wall! I would love to build one in our backyard.
A nice touch was the free tote. Since it was screen printed on-site you were able to pick your own color! This was key for holding other goodies throughout the day.
As far as bounty, Whole Foods PDX offered an array of cheese samples.
There were also cooking demos throughout the day. Here’s Chris Cosentino cooking up something delicious.
It was fun connecting with Jane — she moved from Tahoe to Portland last year and she’s pregnant too! I was in good company.

Although I wasn’t able to drink, I definitely made up for it by eating for two. Oh, the belly grew.
This little cup of cacao goodness was pure bliss! I could have enjoyed seconds. They served
Salt
& Straw ice cream topped with hot drinking chocolate and
some crunchy cacao nibs.

I loved the ice cream from Salt & Straw. Of course I tried more than one flavor, Sea Salt with Carmel Ribbons and Summer Sweet Corn Buttermilk!
The Feast logo apparel for sale was well done. How cute are the t-shirts from Flavour Gallery? Plus, I’m in love with the Will Leather Goods tote.
All-in-all it was a great day. The sun was shinning and everything was delicious. If you can only attend one event during Feast next year it should be the Oregon Grand Bounty Tasting. It allows you to sample a wide variety of products from Portland and Oregon in one day. I really enjoyed my time in Portland and at Feast and would definitely attend the event again. I’m sure the baby enjoyed all the amazing treats too. Mark your calendar for next year, September 17-20.
