The last and final day of Feast Portland was Sunday and what better way to celebrate than with brunch. Plus, I’ve heard brunch is kind of a big deal in Portland. The Tillamook Brunch Village was right on track with the other events we attended and well worth the $75 ticket price. However, after brunch I was officially done eating for awhile.
The brunch village was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Square and featured chefs such as Alvin Cailian (Eggslut — Los Angeles, CA), Aaron Franklin (Franklin Barbeque — Austin, TX) and Greg Marks (Butcher & Bee, Charleston, NC) among a number of others. Although it was held at the same location as the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting, held the previous two days, the setup was slightly different. Less vendors and more tables to sit down and enjoy brunch offered attendees a laid back vibe.
Tillamook had their own tasting set up in the center of the event.
Black Seed Bagels w/ salmon salad — New York, NY
There wasn’t a shortage of beverages between champagne, wine, beer and a number of cocktail options from make your own bloody mary to gin fizz.
Crater Lake Pina Mimosas
What’s brunch without a bloody mary bar. I was so sad I couldn’t make my own. Next time…
Of course, I made a beeline for the smoothie bar! USA Pears even had take home smoothie cards! I can’t wait to recreate these soon.
Baby M and I had our fix of iced Stumptown Coffee over the weekend too. Now I just need a retailer in Tahoe to carry it.
Heaven on earth.
Castle of gorge nut bars filled with truffles — Mark Linebarger, Baldwin Saloon (The Dalles, OR)
OMG Bread pudding from Teresa Sasser, Puddin’ River Chocolate & Wine Bar (Canby, OR)
Overall, Feast Portland was absolutely a perfect way to spend a long weekend in Portland. I’m pretty sure baby M enjoyed it too. 😉 Don’t worry we did more than just eat and I’ll be back with another post in a few days.
If you’re thinking about visiting Portland I suggest marking your calendar for Feast Portland next year. I would highly recommend attending the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting and one other main event whether it’s the sandwich invitational, brunch village or another event it’s a fantastic way to sample a wide range of food in just a few days.
