Let’s talk money, it’s never an easy subject and typically a topic of the table at dinner parties, etc., but today I want to dive into simple ways you can save and make a few extra dollars. Remember a few dollars/cents here and there can add up to a few hundred dollars by the end of the year.
ThredUP | A quick and easy way to buy and sell clothes. Order a bag online, fill up the bag with gently used items and send it back. ThredUp will purchase what they think they can resell and donate the rest. It’s pretty much hassle free. Want $10 off your first purchase join ThredUP via my LINK and start shopping.
PoshMark | Ok, with a few clicks on your phone you can set up your own consignment shop via the PoshMark app. This app has been a real money maker for me. Yup, since may I’ve sold 14 items and made roughly $130. Oh does it work? You list your item and set your own price. PoshMark keeps 20% and provides you with the shipping label. While you might have to wait a few weeks for items to sell the return is can be higher than ThredUP. Download the app today and start selling! Sign up with code PTGUE to get $5 off your first order.
EBATES | Get paid to shop online. I personally to 90% of my shopping online. So why not make money for doing something you would do either way. Stores pay EBATES a commission for sending members to their websites, and they share a percentage with you. For example 1% at Target, 6% at GAP, and 9% at Macy’s. They even offer cash back on travel! Get cash back for shopping on Ebates! Sign up with my invite link, HERE, for a $10 bonus when you shop at over 2,000 stores!
Ibotta | In short, Ibotta is a rebate app giving you cash back on qualifying purchases. How does it work? Before you shop, add rebates by completing simple tasks. Buy the products you selected at any participating store. Don’t forget your receipt! Redeem your rebates by taking a photo of your receipt or just by linking your loyalty card. Ibotta matches the items you bought to the rebates you selected and gives you the cash! Your cash back will be deposited into your Ibotta account within 48 hours. Use my referral code, eoltjxx, and you will receive a $10 welcome bonus! Sign up, HERE.
eBay | While I’m not a power seller and having listed anything in a while I do still occasionally dabble in selling items via eBay. If you have the time, patience, and the right items it’s worth listening on eBay. In the past, I’ve sold gear, clothes, fine jewelry, and name brand purses.
Craigslist/Local Online UpCycle Groups | Have some big ticket items, but don’t want to host a garage sale and would like to make a few bucks? This is your next best option. Plan to haggle, but again if you have the time and patience it’s a great avenue to make a few extra bucks. I typical price things to sell to limit any haggling.
There you have it. Just a few ways I make a few extra bucks. In our household, all the “extra” money goes into our fun account.
So what are you selling? Do you have tips?
