The Open is OVER! Yup, Friday was the last workout of the 2017 CrossFit open. Boy am I glad it’s over. While I had some great weeks and not so great weeks I saw a huge improvement from 2016 and I can’t wait to get to work. I’m coming for you 2018!

INITIAL THOUGHTS
Everyone knew thrusters and double under were coming. So I wasn’t surprised. For me personally I was a tad worried about my double unders because some days are better than others. I knew this one was going to hurt.
PERFORMANCE
My game plan was pretty straight forward break up the thrusters into 3’s from the beginning and pray to the jump rope gods. My thrusters felt great and I never struggled. The issue for me was transitioning from thrusters to double unders. I managed to do sets of 10, 15 or 20 at a time, but it still wasn’t fast enough. I finished in 23:18. Not bad.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I kind of liked this WOD. Maybe it’s because my thursters actually felt better than they have in a long time. While I’m happy with the outcome I wish I could have been faster….
